- The Fake UTG limp reraise
I play a lot of 6 max lately and really hate to open limp (I might limp with ok hands if there are other limpers)
So I got KJo in UTG and decide to limp and a passive table (If the table is aggressive I usually fold this UTG) its folded to the blinds. SB complete and I decide that if BB make a move...
- HU - open folding bttn
How often if at all do you open fold from the bttn in HU IF you have a decent stack compare to blinds..
I almost never open fold. Only when my stack get real small will I tighten up and raise or fold. But when the stack is healthy, I'll often limp with any 2 cards .
is that a leak?

- online heads up cash games
recently i've been playing online heads up cash games (usually .50/1, 80 dollar buy-in), which i really really like. made the mistake of winning alot (for me) early on, and have since began to slide.
i like it because it is much more of a character study, and if you can successfully categorize a...

- 6-handed vs. 10-handed low limit ring games
I'd be interested in the group's thoughts on where to play (6- or 10-handed) and why. Here's the background:
Relatively new to Holdem (about eight months) and to online (about 4 months). I play strictly 0.25/0.50 ring since I'm just getting started and I win steadily over the long run since reading...
- Who has 6-handed NL SNGs?
I was enjoying the 6-handed SNGs at Pacific Poker ($5, $10, $20 variety) when they removed them. I e-mailed them and got a good, quick reply that they were repairing them and they should be back in a week. That was a month ago.
Does anyone know a site that has such games?
- When to bluff
We have a game at my friends house now where around 6-8 players play and I never know when to try to bluff because im always afraid of them all calling it because the way most of em play they would.

Someone has once told me that "1/2 shorthanded limit holdem is a losing proposition." Is there any truth to this? I've been playing it for quite a while, but am currently on a break from it. At the start it was great, I was hitting everything and avioding tons of bad beats, which translated...

- Friends play a weird style home game...
Me and my boys play a game just about every night... We play a 20 dollar buy in winner takes all. Generally there is about 5-8 of us playing. We all start of with 100 in chips (whites are 1, reds 5, and blues 10)... We start the blinds off at 1-2 and every "2" people that go out after that we raise...

- Book for short handed home games
i'm looking for a good book on texas holem short handed play. I have a game every week or so with my freinds and we usually play 2 tables of 5-6 . I'm looking for a good first book for me. I've just started playing this past month but have a fairly good grasp on the game.
- 6 handed FL hand selection
I never really see anyone talking about the 6 handed games so i thought I'd put a couple questions out there to get some discussion going. These are the games I play the most as I find they're better for clearing bonuses faster and I tend to have a better bb/100.
What I'm wondering is if it's correct...

- Loose heads up
Most tournaments I play I waver on the side of being too conservative, but once it gets to heads up I will play any hand if it is not raised, and depending on the raise I will still play a lot of hands. This usually works for me because I have established my conservative image and in a heads up game...
- HEADS UP
Today I played a turnament and once again I came in second. This trend is growing old. I want to actual win one for once. I went in to heads up the chip leader but I lost it all, again. - Heads up strategy against a loose passive ? Anyone please
Hi, I currently need a new strategy to use agains a calling station heads up when the station has the chip lead (without money involved.. yeah, maybe that's the problem).
I've tryed to play agressive, he calls, tryed to slow play and hit big at the end, he folds. Tryed to bet something like 2 times...
- Two players left what tactics to use?
played a game last night, was agreed that it would be winner takes all (£25 in total). I take out one player and the guy who is left takes out the other two smaller stacked players. - Did I do anything wrong???
My and my freinds were playing a home game. It was down to the final 2 and me and this other kid were pretty evenly stacked. The way we play we ante if there are only two people left. The ante was 20 and we each had about 200 in chips.
I was dealt AJ and bet 40 he raises 40. Now i knew he had a good...
- Heads Up
Okay, I've learned one thing about my NL Hold'em playing skill, and that is that it lacks in one on one situations. I can do a good job of making it to the final two, but once it gets to there I find myself losing more, and I'm pretty sure that it has something to do with how I'm playing.
So, could...

- PlAYING THE PLAYERS
Short handed play can be one of the most profitable of all. you only need to be better than 1 player...2 would give you a huge advantage. - 5 player SNG's, a losing game?
I used to play a lot of 5 person SNG's because if figured it was easier to win. Which is true. However I have started playing a lot more 10 or 20 player ones and have been doing considerable better in the finances. My theory is that 5 players even if you win you still only get half what you would...

- Heads up advice
I'm having a lot of trouble finishing off the SNG's that I've been playing. When it gets to heads up action, I turn into a different player. - Does anyone else here have problems with shorthanded games?
After having done winning a home tourney, and then coming out ahead consistently in 9 person buy-in games, I tried to play two games w/ four ppl. I absoloutely got destroyed. I tried to be aggressive, but every time I made a stab at a pot, I got re-raised. I assumed that A-4 would be the best hand, but...

- Destructive Patterns
I have been playing in H/U matches quite a bit lately. I sometimes find myself in routine. This is very bad. Be careful not to patternize your moves. As it is an indicator of your hands.
This typically isn't an issue when playing live. Internet poker suffers from this much more. The only thing...
