Before you start a thread about hand analysis, make sure to describe the situation completely. Left out facts like info on bet sizes, position, size of stack, size of pot, etc. just cause threads to be excessively long and unreadable. I figured out that AK and AQ, suited and offsuit, cost me pretty much money.

Over the past few months I've gotten into the game of Backgammon a little bit. I'm not all that good. However, I've noticed that a lot of Backgammon concepts (mostly centering on the doubling cube) have a lot of nearly direct parallels to poker.

Game is $10/$20, $2000 max. on BD. I have been at the table for three laps and villain has been very aggressive, playing and raising a lot of pots. - no hand/calling bets with intention to bluff/steal
I'm wondering how many of you might do this, or what you think of it.
There are times when I'm in a pot and I call raises purely on the chance I can steal on later streets on a bluff.
For example, 3 limpers, I have position. Flops is JJ6, rainbow. EP bets 1/2 pot, 2nd position folds and I call...

- NL Hand for comments
Game is 5/10 NL, $1000 max buy-in.
I have been playing for 1/2 an hour and have yet to table a hand. I am down to $950 when this hand comes up. No specific reads on any given players, but the table seems generally pretty loose/passive.

Here's a hand for the opinions of the LAGs that frequent the boards. Situation is a cheap SnG. Blinds are 25/50 at this level. - Opinions on this hand?
Okay, this is like the WORST flop for KK. What I'm wondering is, did I play it correctly? I let the check come around and it seemed like everyone was weak and possibly on draws. On...
- Mistake?
Question for you guys. I'm in an EP w/ JJ, raise it up like 5-6xBB (early in tourney, need to raise higher than usual) and get 1 caller from the BB.

Would a better way to play this have been bet the flop, then check/fold the turn (obviously the way it played out I should've got allin, but generally, when called on that flop, what do you do?).

This is something I've been thinking about lately, I also have a question near the bottom about how to play a certain situation. First part is mainly a theory/question about general strategy.

Friend of mine was saying when he plays online he forces himself to take at least 3 seconds on every single move he makes, even if it is an instant fold type move, etc. He says this keeps his moves deceptive as nothing will be given away based on the time he takes to make his move (ie. quick check often...
