It's a no-limit tournament. I'm on the big blind for 100 holding k2os. The small blind and one other person calls, I check. The flop comes k k 9 (rainbow) -
- small blind checks
- I bet 100
- raised to 200
- small blind folds
I have just over 300 left. At first I put him on 3 of a kind with a better kicker cos it is a pretty big bet for that game. He does however have a large stack and is slightly on tilt from the previous hands. I figure he might just have a two pair or even 3 of a kind 9s. I decide to call, he shows k9 full house.
Looking back now I think if I had considered it for longer I would have probably realised I was likely beaten but to lay that hand down, I'm still not sure I could have done it.

No way can you lay this down given the shortness of your stack. You only have 5 big blinds left. How many better opportunities to you forsee with 5 big blinds?

Yeah in that situation it's a case of frying pan vs. fire. But if you had had a bigger stack, the fold would have been the proper move unless the guy is known to be a huge bluffer. Anyone else would have to be crazy to raise without a King, in which case his kicker will beat yours (to say nothing of the boat).
Also remember that even if he had a set of 9's he would have beat you since he would have had a boat with 9's over K's. Only thing you could hope to put him on was a hand like A9, but even on tilt I'm not sure he would raise without a King.

with 300 left, and a hand like that, your only choice was to go all in
