Last night was my first time playing live and I made $500 from five hours of play at a 3/6 Limit Hold'em table. What surprised me was how bad some of the players were and how easy it was to tell when certain players were bluffing. On this one hand for example, the board showed like 8-8-9-10-K all black, and this one person called bets in each round and even after the river with a 2-5 both red! I just could not understand what some of these people were thinking with the hands that they played. I only played online prior to this, so I am wondering if this is a common occurrence to run into this many people who are just willing to throw their money away without even a draw or a high card?
Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

I've never played a casino, but from everything I've heard this is typical. As Sean_in_nj explained you get a lot of people at low limit tables are not there to play hold'em. They wandered into a casino with the intention of gambling. A few hours, and possibly a few hundred dollars later they end up at a hold'em table and you're taking money at another game they have no clue how to play. The beauty of a low limit table is you get a lot of people who have no intention of winning, but who just enjoy gambling (or so I've heard). To play hold'em online one has to go through effort of finding a site, downloading the program, setting up an account, registering your bank account, and depositing money.
