Homegame finished.... Last hand bad beat

Okay... time to vent. Just finished a home game and got bad beat for $50 in the last hand.

Blinds are 1/2. I am the button and play K3 clubs for the big blind.
Flop comes:
A 4 10 (all clubs!)

I feel great so everyone checks to me and I bet hard. One guy comes over the top with a small raise and I call. Next card comes another four. It checks to the button (me) again. So I bet really strong reading that no one is filled up. Everyone folds except this one girl who calls everything. River comes a 5 of spades. No help, right? I bet hard. She calls with pocket fives!!!!!!!!

I am bad beat by a person holding an underpair versus my nut flush! For the biggest pot of the night!

That is a tough beat and is illustrative of a poor play that I constantly see poor players make. For some reason, a poor player thinks that a pocket pair is a good hand. I have seen people refuse to lay down a low pocket pair when the board has 3 overcards and people betting strong at it.

I have lost count of the number of times when I have had a huge bet called, often called all in, and sat there thinking my punt on second pair was a bad one only to laugh my proverbials off when the other guy flips 66 in the hole.
