I have a 10:spade:, J on the button. Flop brings me an open ended straight flush. There is betting the whole way through. On the turn first position bets 10, two callers and a late position guy raises to 20. I call the 20 and first three callers fold. river brick. I have nothing. Not even a pair and its heads up. The raiser thinks for a few minutes then mucks his cards to no bet. I quitely take the pot with my nothing.

I had that happen on a big pot of 5/10, I was on a nut flush draw and missed, he claimed that he was on a str8 draw and missed-so I think my A high was good-but we pushed 3 players out before the river. Nice winning big pots with no pair.

I’d guess he might have been on a lower straight or flush draw which barely put him above the board. Still I think the value of concealing how you play a hand isn’t worth that much, compared to even a slim chance of picking up a pot (for no more bets).
I’ve seen people fold on the flop after a check, which does confuse me.

I saw something similar to that this weekend. The BB folded preflop with no raises to him. The dealer even asked him if he knew he could play it and the guy (who was drunk) just said "Get that f..king garbage outta here". He had told me earlier he had been playing for 23 hours and was down a lot, so obviously tilting big time.

Tilting or not passing on free flop is moronic.
It would be funny if the flop came 7 7 2 and he flew into a rage :D

Well, I don't know what he would have had on this particular hand, but on just about every other one that he folded preflop, all I heard was "Oh, I would have had...". From the way he made out, he would have won 50% of the hands if he'd just stayed in. The fact is, he was already seeing almost 40% of the flops after I sat down and wasn't winning a thing. I had a hard time concentrating on my own play because he kept on yammering away for hours on end. He'd played for a total of 28 hours straight by the time he finally gave up and left.

...he's a poker dealer.
He was distracted trying to tell someone a story and didn't realize it was unraised. :D
