Miss hearing/revealing cards accidentally

Posted Sat Apr 16, 2005 6:42 am GMT by weirpougs
ok played last night and i'm dealing/button on me.
(blinds have got big)
(four players)

Player A folds
Me.with QQ. I bet 5xBB.
Player B folds
PLayer C calls

I miss hear him. I thought he said fold. and he had called.
I turn over my cards to show i wasn't bluffing, everyone is saying what are doing, he turns over his cards. he has AKs! so he is rightly annoyed, he was short stacked as well.

We give everyone's money back (looking back i think this was wrong but am happy as he probaly had me beat).

I then redeal, but whilst dealing i turn over a card a call the round void! One guy is pulling his hair out as he got dealt AKo and had been getting rubbish all night.

i then redeal again and get KK!! i then proceed to rake a huge pot and take player C out!

this was a comedy of errors on me, yet i proceeded to win the game!

next time what should do?

If someone exposes their hand prematurely, you can't call the hand null and void. His hand plays as does everyone elses. If calling a hand null and void could be done, you'd find alot more players accidently flipping their hands when they regret their betting decisions.

When the dealer accidently flips over a card while dealing, that card becomes the burn card and a misdeal is not called (unless it is one of the first two cards dealt or more than one is flipped)

it was as i was putting the cards together to put them on the table, the burn card was revealed effectively.

makes sense i thought i was wrong, but as i say i was happy with that. so does player C show his cards then we have the community cards?

with the burn card do you deal it face up away from the flop then so everyone can see it or face down and just say what it was?

No, player C does not show his cards and the hand continues normally.

If I recall correctly, casino dealers usually make sure everyone has seen the card and then put it face down with the other burn cards.
