Don't grill me if this is in the wrong section. I was reading Super System over again and in the No Limit Section I noticed that on pg 466 Doyle say he turned his AA up to see if he could get a reaction. Can you do this in play or only if you going to fold? Just a little confused.........
Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

this all depends on where you are playing.... some places will allow it and some places will not.... but if you turn your cards up in the places that allow it you either can call or fold... you can't raise it based on your opponents reaction

The tactic is used when you're heads up, and your opponent has already moved all-in. It's supposed to evoke a response from your opponent, making it easier to decide whether to call or fold. If the other player still has chips left, or if there are other players in the hand left to act, then the play can't be used.
There have been so many posts on this subject in this forum alone that I can't imagine there's any reasonably educated poker player that isn't aware of it. Any home games I play in forbid this now, mostly because it's obtained "gimmick" status. Most of the people who try this these days don't know what the hell they're looking for anyway.
