the new recent on this wednesday had a lil poker corner about poker chips and the difference between good and bad.
Looks like their FINALLY catching on!
Best quote was from Jennifer Harmen, with great chips it make you feel like your really playing poker.

It seemed like a marketing gimmick for their WPT chips.

arent those cheap metal insert chips?

As far as I know yes, but they play them off to be real clay just like every other cheap chip manufacturer.

Yea I also thought it was a marketing gimmick. They made 11.5 grams seem like it was the chip to get, which is coincidently the same weight as the WPT chips
Also, the players were talking about the chips feeling like real casino chips while holding the WPT chips....

It also looked like the cutaways to the chip dealer were from the Gambler's General Store. I recognized the huge bookshelf along the rear wall.

They are metal inserts. Not a bit of clay as most retailers say. But I must admit they are the "higher echelon" of all 11.5 chips. Very high quality inlay (read: sticker) and at least a little texture. Problem is there are only three colors, unless you can be lucky enough you can find the fourth color.

I also noticed they had a brand new case of the WPT chips brought out when it was heads-up. Yeah, Daniel wins over a million dollars and the real prize is the Official WPT chips, lol.

They weren't worth anything before, but NOW they are, since Daniel owns them.

I saw that segment -- totally lame!
They started talking about chips and mentioned composite and clay, but only really went into detail about composites, didn't say a damn thing about clay.
When they talked about weight they mentioned the weight ranged from 9 grams to 11.5 -- also didn't go into what weight real chips are, leading people further into thinking that 11.5 is ok. What a scam!

It's like reading a Mike Sexton article in Card Player. All he does now is advertise for the WPT or Party Poker.
