Situational, know your player.

check and see what button does. . . .

Betting pot makes you damn close to pot-committed and makes lesser hand fold and better hands come over the top.

What hands are you beating? A9 and below and along that line, would villain check a weak ace here?

If you check/call, does villain auto bet the river? If so how much? But if you call, will that freeze up your opponent?

6200 is right. . . know your opponenet's betting patterns. I prefer check/folding.

I bet 2/3 of the pot, and fold to a re-raise. I think your hand is too strong to check and fold here, plus you've got 7 outs.

that was my first response but i've been getting raised alot taking this line and find myself making more folds than I want to.

So i've tried to play it slowly and i find that a weak ace tends to check behind.

I like a check here as well. If you get a free card, you likely have the nuts or at least your opponent beat. With 8-9 probable outs, it's going to be very hard to push me off this hand on the turn.

Thanks, guys.

Anyway, I bet $15 on the turn, and he called again. The river was a rag. After he called me on the turn, I lost my nerve and checked the river. He bet $25. I....

...folded?

without knowing the player I would say folding is the right play here.

i call cuz this pot's pretty good size and I have no idea what villain has.

This is what you get for betting small on the turn. Shame on you.
