This may not be news, but looks like the price will be $1.35 (yikes) per chip and the chips are scheduled to arrive mid May.

MSRP $1.99.... are you serious??? I guess I'll quit bitching about $1-a-piece chips
Posted Fri Apr 22, 2005 11:47 am GMT by ChkDeezNuts
WOW.......that $1.35 price I think prices me out of buying a tourney set (500)...
I am all about value....and value tells me I can do custom clays at pc.com for less or custom ceramics for the same price.
I don't know...I am a little dissapointed with this price.

It does say that you can get bulk rates. I want some chips like these, but MUCH cheaper.

bulk rates will probably be cheaper im sure. Buying a set of 500 will not cost $675, thats way too pricey.

no, they arent serious. They consistently lie about the MSRP. They do it on everything they got so it looks like there prices are better. I just ignore what they tell me the MSRP is. for example they say the retail price on a set of 500 NJ Skulls ceramics is $675.00. Not even close, its sold at nevadajacks.net for $299. they inflated the MSRP just a touch.

I hope that's the case but generally with 5star the single chip price is the same as the price for 500 chips (which is a plus when ordering smaller quantities).

Let's not forget about 5Star's never ending 25% off deal. That would bring the price down to $1.01 per chip.....

Those prices are only shown to make you think you're getting a great deal when they sell you a set of 500 for $500.

I guess.......if the 25% discount holds up....I guess I am in for 500 for $500....hey...I'm a sucker....I have always wanted a Paulson set with multi edge spots for tourneys but I hate the Bond Inlay...this new inlay is great.
If 500 for $500....I am in baby.

LHNWXK is the code, and they say for just 24 hours ( i dont know if i believe them, but hey. On trademark, they are 1.25 each, and it iwll be cheaper with the 25% off, will work out to about a buck a chip.

$1.01/chip is rough (updated price on 5stardeal.com). I am spoiled with the $.85/$.87/$.92 prices of the group buys.

Heads Up!! Discount Casino Gear has these chips listed for .95 cents

Sweet find ky70! 5star already increased their prices to $1.35/chip. I didn't realize they were going to stop taking pre-orders so quickly. Guess it's been over a week, but with the continued delay, I thought they would have it up longer.

Wierd site though, no phone number, email addresses come back with host unkown. Trying to get in touch with them, and it aint easy. Im sure they dont have them in stock, but it says nothing about a pre order

Discount Casino Gear goes through Trademark Wholesale (aka 5Star). I'm pretty sure they're legit because I looked into getting a few things wholesale from them and when they found out I already had an account with Trademark they told me they used them too.

I think that site is just that, a site, nothing more. He's not really quite what you might call an on-line merchant per se, with inventory and all. It appears that Trademark Services just drop ships his orders from their warehouse. He acts more like a sales agent or broker rather than as the actual provider, and the address that is provided for that site looks like a home address. While the prices look a little better than those on the 5Star site, the savings may be lost once the shipping gets added, since he doesn't have the 19.95 limit on shipping charges that 5Star has.

How is that any different than many online sellers? A great many sellers have little to no inventory and just drop ship their products.

It isn't any different. It just makes it more difficult to differentiate them from the legitimate merchants that have real inventory and incur real storage or warehouse charges in addition to any flooring charges.

I am the owner of http://www.discountcasinogear.com
So far, the assumptions I read here are correct. But I'd like to provide more information so that you know what kind of company we are. I see some of you are concerned about whether or not we are legit.
Paulson stopped selling retail a long time ago, but recently decided to get back into the market. They are offering Trade Mark Poker EXCLUSIVE rights to sell their products. Therefore, you should know that if you buy Paulson chips ANYWHERE on the web, you are getting them from TMP. Most of these companies use TMP to drop ship, just like we do.
I know the following might sound like a sales pitch, but I'm going to throw it out there anyway. You can decide for yourself if it makes any sense to you.
This is why our pricing is better than anyone elses.
1) We are one of the MOST successful casino supply companies on the net. Trade Mark Poker wants to keep our business so they offer us excellent pricing. We are one of their top customers, if not already #1. They do not want to compete with us.
2) We do business exclusively on the web. That is why you don't see a phone number listed on our site. We save alot of money by cutting costs and that includes cutting costs by not staffing phones. We give out our number to anyone that requests it. It's also printed on order confirmations and packing slips that trade mark puts in our shipments.
3) As someone above corectly noted, TMP is 5SD. TMP does sell retail through 5SD. However, it would be foolish for them to compete against their distribution channels. If they did, their retailers will look for other wholesalers. However, there are times where 5SD might offer better pricing once you factor in shipping since they obviously have better margins, and can afford to eat some shipping costs. I believe you'll find that once you factor in the price difference, the shipping costs aren't going to matter. If we find that they do, we negotiate better pricing. Like I said before it would be foolish for them to compete with their distribution channels. If YOU find that they do, let us know and we'll probably be able to give you a price break.
I'm not sure whether or not TMP stopped accepting pre-orders for these, through 5SD or not. But I just checked the system and they have not raised my price yet and I can still put orders through, at least for now. I don't know when that will change.
Anyhow... I hope this helps. If you have any questions you can e-mail me directly at tdemay@discountcasinogear.com

I can vouch for Tom Demay, at least I can vouch for him owning the site and being active in the business. We spoke at great length early today about vending the Pharaoh's Club and about Trademark.

So, it's the middle of May, anyone have any confirmations of whether these chips will ship soon or are they going to be delayed again. I am anxious to see these chips and how the mold now looks (or fits, since I understand from other posts they were just increasing the size to fit the inlay and not actually making a different mold). Thanks!

I just got a message from 5star that they shipped out today. They are also offering a 26% discount in their site, making these chips $1 a piece.
