TRKING - "Teddy KGB's"

Posted Fri Apr 29, 2005 12:08 am GMT by Prettey Toney
I've always wanted to say and do this:
I am a proud new owner of custom TRKING "KGB" replica chips that just arrived! Thanks to Phillip or "Paulsonchips" who helped orchestrate the group buy, and has been excellent with his service.
As far as the chips, I couldn't be happier. No immediate visual flaws, and chips are just what I would expect from Dennis at TRK. They do need played with to be broken in some. Some of my pics are slightly blurry, it is not the inlay, just me fending off my daughter, who is excited as well. Thanks to this forum for all the info.

John,

No I haven't oiled them.

THe only place that I could see truly benefiting is the edges because TRKINGS already have that shiny slightly slick face. I think it would bring out some serious color on the edgespots.

What do you use the mineral or unscented baby oil?

Also maybe throw some before and after shots at us like you did on one review, I can't remember which one.

Thanks

Also this might help someone out there:

If anyone is planning on filling the 750 wood case from 5star with any form of TRkings, each row holds precisely 80 chips for a total of 800, not 750. I don't know about other kinds of chips, maybe this just applies to TRkings because they are presumed to be thinner.

I use regular mineral oil and a lot of elbow grease. You're right about the oil helping the edges the most. BIG difference there. However, I do think that it brightened the colors on the faces up just a bit. Maybe just me....

Cheers,
John
