Senario: Player 1 Has 6, 10
Player 2 Has 6, 9
Community cards are 6, 8, 8, 2 & K
Split Pot? OR Winner is player 1?
BOTH PLAYERS ARE MAKING THE BEST HAND WHICH WOULD BE 2 PAIR WITH THE KING AS THEIR FIFTH (and 'HIGHEST') CARD. When you use one hole card & 4 community cards your other hole card is null & void OR is it still a kicker card?? IF it is a kicker, why? It is essentially a SIXTH card & not part of your HAND.

A few friends & I have been in disagreement over this for a LONG time! SO I was right about not using the other hole card since both are using the KING as their 5th card, CORRECT??

you play your best 5 cards. you do not have to use any of your hole cards if you don't want to, you can play the board if that is your best hand.
