Bad play by me or bad play by him, advice please? |

When i had this happen to me i was livid. Now i know the pot was mine and he, in my eyes at least, shouldn't of even seen the flop with the shit he held. But this happens, and we have to play against it everyday.
I just want some advice on whether i played this hand badly, or whether he played badly. He was out 5 hands later anyway, and i lasted longer with my $40, which i find quite funny! It's such a shame my money went to someone lost it so quickly!
I feel my preflop raise was justified, just (A 9 ), as i'm one of those people that if i'm in the hand i won't flat call the bb as i hate alot of people checking and calling; chasing whatever hand they fancy.
My $100 bet on the turn was an act of weakness, following my bet on the flop, to try and get a raise. This was perhaps silly, but i don't feel this bet lost me the hand and got the call which lost me the hand.
Any opinions would be appreciated. This was a $6+$1 SNG at Absolute poker, NL holdem, i am Garth Vader.

I'm outraged too! How dare someone call with bad pot odds! Did you act like an immature little kid and curse him out kid after he won? Did you at least explain to him what he did wrong and how he was ruining a good game of hold'em by playing poorly?
Seriously, that's poker. Yes he played that hand poorly, but if you can't handle bad beats you shouldn't be playing, because they're never going to end. The best player doesn't always win.

Hey, you taking me to literally, i just wanted some advice on whether i could have played it better and prevented this.
I know "that's poker" and bad beats happen, it was only $7 and there's nothing i can do about it now, so what?
I just wanted some advice on whether my play effected the eventual outcome or whether my play was the right one.
Thanks for being so helpful.

If you get your $$$ in as a 5:1 fav and lose, then you just got unlucky.
Suitedaces just reacted akwardly because we get at least 5 of these a day.

How did you play the hand? Pretty good, we could agrue for a while about your preflop raise etc...but nothing in there was really bad, and you did a great job getting all your chips in before you were outdrawn. Yeah, good hand on your part.
Edit: also, sorry for being rude in my original post. It looked like another bad beat whining post, guess it wasn't. My mistake.

No problem, didn't mean for it to sound like a whinge, but i can see why it does!
