I cash again in a tournament

It was unreal. I was at Bally's on Friday, 04/29/05 and played the $100 + $20 tourney at 9:00 pm. They sold out at 132. They had 11 people to a table.

I kicked but. I played tight and when I had a hand I was super aggressive. I used position many times to steal the blinds and antes and amassed a good chip lead.

When we got down to 2 tables, I played super super tight. I once laid down pocket 10's when someone went all in. To add insult to injury, he told me he had me beat and flashed pocket 8's. I just smiled and said yes you did....nice bet.

When we got to the bubble, 6 handed on 2 tables, everybody started tightening up to the extreme. I check the listing and 9th only paid $180. I couldn't beleive it, we paid $120 to enter, who cares about that. I then really loosened up. Instead of going all in with OK hands, I would call a bet of 2 to 3X big blind. People were accusing me of trying to suck them in when I had a monster and I pretty much doubled my chips by getting the blinds and antes until we were at the final table and in the money.

I then tightened up again. The chip leader was insane. He wanted to take everyone out and he pretty much did. Here's the amazing part. We were down to 4 handed. I was pretty much the short stack. I was big blind, I look down and have A K suited. Chip leader was to right and under the gun. He limps in. The next guy goes all in. The next guy then also goes all in. I sit there shocked. What do I do?? I know the chip leader will call no matter what. I sit....I think. 4th paid $1,000 3rd was $1,600 4th was $2,800 and 1st was $4,700. I FOLD!!! I then stand up and walk away and turn my back on the table since I do not want to watch. The chip leader takes out the other two. I had no idea whether I would have won or not.

I now have $180,000 in chips and he has $520,000. Antes of 5,000 and sb of $20,000 and bb of 40,000. First hand, I have A Q. I push all in. He thinks and thinks. He asks for time out and says if we chop, he'll give me $3,300 instead of the $2,800 that 2nd would get. I chopped the previous monday and turned him down. He calls me AND HAS 5-6 OF CLUBS. ??WTF?? Sure enough, he pulls off a set of 6's and the tournament was over.

I was happy that me and the guy who won were able to beat "the team" that collude in the AC tourneys. Those of you who play in AC alot know who I mean.

Now, was I correct in laying down big slick suited??

thanks...i was so excited. It was awesome being down to four handed and having about 20 or 30 people forming a ring around you watching to see who wins. Incredible feeling.
