At Harrah's $500 + $60 tourney, I saw a big disagreement at out table. One guy suffered a huge bad beat and then to rub it in, the person that won demanded to see the other guy's cards. The other guy got so mad, he picked up his cards and threw them at the other guy. Luckily, the dealer was a pro, he calmed both people down.
Now I know the right answer, the guy who won had the right to see the other person's cards, I just think it is like rubbing it in.

how bad was the beat and how big was the pot?

I beleive the loser had pocket jacks and the winner had Q 2 or Q 3. They were all in and the winner caught a card on the river, 4 of the same suit on the board and his low card completed the flush.
THe loser was pretty much crippled for the tourney

If he was still in the tourney, I guess I can see why he wanted to know, but he was probably just trying to be a dick. I'm sure the guy who threw the cards didn't make another solid decision for a while.

When I am caught in a bluff or someone gets lucky and beats a big pair I muck them by hook or crook. I am not the least bit shy about stuffing my cards in the center of the deadwood. Poker is a war. I don't care if they like my play or personality I only want to take as much money as possible. If hiding my losing hand puts him on tilt, great!

Technically, if he asks to see the cards, the loser must show. They paid to see the cards, so they get a look.

If you're good with your aim, they won't see them. If I really want to muck a hand, they'll end up in the bottom/middle of the pile.
