One of my favorite bluffs as of late to make is with an aggressive call. For example, last night in a $5 home tournament i got 5 8 in late position. I limped in and then a conservative player behind me raised about 1/6 of his chips. Having the chip lead at the time and knowing that he most likely had an AK or AQ, or compareable high cards, I called him. My thinking going into the flop is if face cards come out I am going to have to fold. The flop came out 6 2 10 rainbow. It came around to me, I bet big and he folded. I prefer doing this with a couple of low cards, because it is very risky and If I do get called I want to have a couple live cards just so I am an not drawing dead. I just have to always fear the high pocket pairs. the player told me after he fold that he was holding AK.

An Agressive Call....hmmm.
Now that sounds like a oxymoron if I ever heard one.

You mean loose call. Calling is not aggressive.

well, if u look real mean while doing it it might be an aggressive call. Look at the guy like you are going to kill him, throw the chips in the middle and stomp the table and growl . Thats an agressive call right there.
It takes practice. It helps if ur a big guy with gold teeth, u can show em for added effect.
Im just rambling
But hey im stuck here behind my desk and i still have to work for another 2 hours and 43 minutes before i can start my 10 hour pokersession so bear with me!

the aggressive thing to do in that situation would be to open raise 5 8 suited before it got to your conservative friend, but if your gonna call it aggressive calling,
only get pushy when the cards are suited connectors, 1 gap at most. IE 67suited or 68 suited, and this isnt a play i would recomend making often, but if your gonna do it, make it a suited connector, just putting yourself in a better position for a disguised hand, and sometimes you should even REraise your friend, you know, unless your feeling really aggressive then just call
yea that last part was a joke.

I will do suited connectors but that is about it. You are just setting yourself up to lose money. At least with this hand you can have some outs if an ace hits on the flop to your open ended straight or you get 4 to a flush on the flop.
If you are calling with abosute junk and get reraised you are busted and now you look weak b/c you just folded to a reraise. Happens twice and you now look like the table maniac by raising anything and will get calls the rest of the night. Good stategy if that is what you are looking to do. Create one image but are really the opposite.
