hi
i want to start playing texas hold'em online but i was wondering if it's dangerous. i mean can't the same guy(with several accounts and pc's) or a few friends play at the same table and trick you ? they would know what the others are holding and use the strongest hand they have to beat you or at least know what card you don't have... am i wrong here? is this possible? i was watching an online poker game the other day and one of the players started saying how all his 3 monitors are working now and watch out world
are there any other ways to get cheated? how can you spot them?
Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

Yes collusion is possible on-line but it’s hard to make it profitable. The more you push your advantage the more attention you draw.
Poker sites have programs to monitor:
Betting patterns (using all hole cards).
How often players sit together.
Raising wars.
IP addresses.
Etc...
Don’t worry about the dude with multiple on monitors (some pro’s on here have the same set up) it just allows him to play multiple tables at once to improve his hourly rate (how much he can earn).

all i would add is that if you think something suspiscious is going on get up and leave and report it to the site. online betting sites are worried about getting a reputation for cheaters so they try their hardest to stop it. also i would of thought that unless your a pro it is very hard to make a profit.

If you are playing low limit then I would not worry about it. Other than that just watch for suspicious betting patterns. two people always playing each other and the bigger of the two stacks always folding after considerable action.
