I have found it! The Easiest Poker Game in the World |

After a couple of weeks joining a wednesday night poker game, I have officially determined its the easiest money ever.
The Game is 2/4 FL.
Here is an overview of some of the players:
Guy to my left- Smells really bad, and then tries to argue with me that I am lucky for hitting my flush when I was getting like 5000 to 1 pot odds. Later on, he tells me that someone else must be a better player than I am since i have fewer chips. He loses his forty dollar buy-in and leaves the game early.
next guy- Quietly complains about how the "newbie" keeps sucking out trips or a full house on the river. But he complains all night about how his pocket Kings didnt win. He also consistently shows down hands like K4o. Loses over 100 dollars and calls it a night.
3rd guy- Plays poker somewhere everynight. Has lots of money and is probably the best player of the bunch. He will play just about any two cards but generally has a good sense of when he is beat, or when he is ahead. Several times throughout the night he called the BB in the dark.
4th guy- My Dad. Trying to learn the game through a book i let him borrow, and myself. He is just as bad as everyone else at the table. Plays wayyy to many hands, and overvalues pocket pairs. Lost probably 100 in the game. Afterwards he ask me "Is it correct to play pocket suited cards before the flop?"...Needless to say I had to lecture him about playing too many starting hands. One day he will get it though, im sure
5th guy- The know-it-all of the table. Complains about his luck all night, and even complains about last weeks luck. "Gawd dayum, F--in river again!"
He raised one hand and i called from the button with KQ (I knew nobody else was gonna fold and i had position) Flop comes K, rag, rag. He bets out and I raise. He knows his QQ is beat at this point after my dad cold called my raise. But he continues to call all the way to the river. I take the pot with Kings with a Queen kicker. (my dad had something like K4). "Fu-kin' two outs" he exclaims!
Later in the night he moves seats because the one he was in was "unlucky".
6th guy- the newbie. Had never played holdem before. I think he folded preflop about 5 times all night. Constantly hit his two pair or boat on the river. Always bet if he had any piece of the flop. Would typically call all the way with anything. The kind of guy that you want in your game, but also pisses you off with the bad beats. He won over 100.
As he is leaving, we invite him back next week. He says he would like to but his vision isnt very good at night and he shouldnt be driving. Player 3 promptly promises that he will get him home safely next week.
7th guy-Joe Sucky. Not much to say about this guy. He was pretty quiet and sucked like everyone else, but was far less entertaining.
8th guy-Mr Host. The guy running the show. He thinks he is a really good poker player. He is probably the 3rd best at the table, but that is not saying much. He values pocket pairs like gold. Doesn't fold often preflop, and doesnt do a good job of putting people on a hand. Kind of and a**hole so I love going to a showdown with him.
9th guyJust another character. He is terrible at poker and seems to be more in the game for the social aspect. He loses a couple of buy-ins and the decides to go drink at the bar. As we are leaving he has a game of craps going outside.
Sorry this is kind of a long post, but you can see why I have cleared my Wednesday night schedule. I won 150 in 3 hrs last week, and 183 in 4 hrs this week. I didnt get very good cards either night, but with 6-7 players seeing the flop every hand, it only takes a couple hands a night to turn a profit.
Anyone have a similar game like this?

I don't have a home game to attend, but it was entertaining reading about yours. Good stuff.
"Fu-kin river." "Fu-kin two-outs." I don't know why I think that's funny, but I do.

The weekly game is made of a regular five plus whoever else is invited. The the five core stays the same.
The Texas Hold Em tourney is the last game and at the end of the night...until then it is dealers game.
1. Math Genius Engineer. Good Player. At times he is hard to read. He will bluff or let you win a hand so he can set you up next time. The game he calls most often are Texas Hold Em, Omaha HI/LO, Crazy Pineapple and a game called 5 1/2.....21.
2. Parks Director. High Average player. Depends on luck way too much. Easy to read. Will call almost evey hand to the last card. Likes to bluff way too much..Game of choice is Texas Hold Em, Omaha HI/LO, Crazy Pineapple.
3. Probation officer and the Host: Average player. Super aggressive and plays too many hands. In addition to our weekly home game we have a monthly Texas Hold Em NL tourney (30 plus players) and he is usually one of the first out. His games of choice are Omaha HI/LO, Crazy Pineapple., 5 Card Stud, Seven Card Stud, and a game called New York.
4. Host wife. below average player. Everyone knows when she has made a hand and we bail. Games of choice are usually off beat. Follow the Queen, 5 card Pai Gow, screw your neighbor, 5 or 7 card heaven and hell, etc.
5. Myself. I consider myself good. I usually call Texas Hold Em, Omaha Hi/LO, Crazy Pineapple (I introduced this game to them). Every once in a while I will call an off beat game . Maybe some 3,5,7..or 7 Card Baseball (a No peek game. I usually only call one off beat per night.)...I keep it really standard. However, It is good to know these games...
------------------------------
5 & 1/2....21 is a version of Black Jack. Closest to 5 1/2 takes have the pot..the other half is closest to 21.
Face cards are worth 1/2 point. Everything else is standard value.
-------------------------------
Anyone else play Dealer choice? If so, What Games? Or is it standard Texas Hold Em only?

I haven't played dealer's choice in a couple of years. It's always hold'em now. When we did, it was usually Follow the B*tch, 7-stud, 7-no peek, Omaha and 5 card draw with a wild card thrown in occasionally. Those games were fun, but it was tougher to me because after a 1/2 of a fifth of JD and a 12-pack, it's difficult to remember which game you're playing. I won a huge pot playing Follow the B*tch thinking we were playing 7-stud. I had 2 Q's in the hole, 1 Q showing, a 5 showing, and my down-and-dirty card was a 5. I thought I had a boat, but 5's were wild so I had 5 of a kind. I was really drunk, but still didn't admit until the following day that I had mistaken what we were playing.
There's a local dealer's choice game in my area on Monday nights, but it's on the other side of the city and Monday's are just not good days for me.

Key to all those games (2/22 is another one) is to never chase the high. If you miss the low, fold.
