Playing multiple tables

A tool you might find helpful. It helps you manage multiple tables by only showing you the tables that need attention. The others are safely hidden in the background until they need a decision.

I'm not going to zart this for now, it's very boarderline spam to have a thread on your own program, but it's free.

When I get a good look at it, if it turns out not to do what you say, should it be spyware or what have you, I'll be upset. And disapointed.

I'd be happier about the thread if you'd share a little of the development process with us, your thoughts and how much work you've put into it, etc.

In my hurry to get the word out I ended up causing a lot of confusion by not explaining myself. Marketing is obviously not my forte.

As an online poker addict, I often play four to eight tables. As with most poker addicts this is a very stressful and frustrating endeavor what with clicks on wrong buttons, wrong tables, missed opportunities, etc.

I found that the tables would automatically pop into view from a hidden state when they need attention . All I needed to do was write a script that would hide the windows I didn't need to deal with right at the moment. The task was to find the best way for the program to determine when to hide the window and how long to keep the window visible so the player can act on it.

After several different approaches over a few weeks, I settled on a program that made my life much easier when multi-tabling. I continued to use the tool exclusively for about another month with no problems.

I found that, for me, the best combination was to hide all windows except the lobby, which is minimized. Once they pop up for attention I keep the windows visible for ten seconds, then hide them until action needs to be taken.

I'm considering reducing the visibility time to eight seconds or adding a sliding scale with which the user can change the amount of time he has available to act. Right now, even if a window times out (ten seconds) before action is taken, the window will pop up again in time to act.

In the year since I started playing, I've seen many comments from other players complaining of mistakes made due to multiple tables. I searched online for any tool that did what my tool did but found nothing except one that actually folds or bets the hole cards for you. As this is a violation of all poker site rules, I thought maybe I had something that would be of value to other players.

So, this is the tool. If people like it, I might make some money from online poker despite myself. If they don't, I'll just keep it for my own use.

Thanks for not pulling the trigger on this thread too quickly. I hope you also will find the tool helpful.

I'm also almost done with a tool that will be a free but seperate program to make all windows visible. Or I might make it a "pamic button" on the first tool. While not necessary, the tool could ease user's nervousness about windows they haven't seen for a while. I found myself worrying that something had gone wrong when windows stayed hidden for long periods of time. Most of the time, there was not problem. Once in a while, a table I had lost all my chips on would, of course, stay hidden because there was nothing else to act on. Since most players would like to close the table or add more chips, I should have the second tool ready in a week or so.

My next project will be a console that lists all tables, shows the user's hand at each table and has radio buttons the user can select for his next move. The console will then activate the buttons on the correct table, eliminating any misclicks on wrong buttons or tables. It will also reduce or eliminate missed oportunities. The console could be used with or without WScroll.exe. This will take some political work with the sites since it WILL make the bets or folds for the user and will technically be in violation of site rules. It will, however, not be in violation of the spirit of the rules since the user determines what actions will be taken, not the console.
