Do I have to flip my cards over? |

If I'm heads-up and the other person goes all-in before the flop, do we both have to turn our cards over, or do I have the choice to wait until after the river in case I want to muck? Is the policy the same in tournament and cash games?

if you see a river and do not fold, then you are required to show your hand if asked.

in that situation the cards get turned face up before any more cards are dealt.

I know that that's the usual protocol, but in a casino, would I actually be required to flip them up before the cards are dealt or could I wait?

Where I play you can wait. But, if someone wants to see your hand you are not allowed to muck.

as dave said, if your opponent wishes to see your cards you are REQUIRED to show, so all you would really accomplish by waiting is looking like an ass and having the whole table gunning for you as a result. do you really want that?

I think this one depends on where you play. At turningstone... in cash games, you don't have to flip em but like others said, the guy can ask to see them. But in their tourneys, they don't flop anymore cards until they are flipped over. This is the standard I apply to all of my games.

Just to clarify, I'm not talking about situations where a player expects collussion and wants to see your cards. I want to know if there is a casino rule that says you must flip your cards face up when everyone or everyone but one, are all-in and there can be no more betting. Is a player allowed to keep their cards concealed while the board is being dealt?
