Goin to Vegas!!

Posted Sat May 14, 2005 9:54 am GMT by chicoelnino
I'll be heading to vegas for my first time in mid August for two weeks and I would like some information regarding texas hold em poker in casinos.

First of all, do they have $10, $15 or $20 buy in no limit tournaments? I would'nt be interested in hugh buy-in tournaments.

Secondly, I would like to find a casino that has loads of tourists playing tournaments(somehow I think I would have a better chance than playing ye vegas sharks Laughing )

I'll probably be heading to vegas on my own so I would appreciate any helpful tips/advice for when I get out there in general.

Cheers folks.

surely there has to be some casinos that have lower buy in tournaments??

Basically I want no limit tournaments with buy in's under $30...be it in casinos or other places. I feel thats my best chance of making a few bucks.

Anyone know additional information?

If there are any that low, I don't remember seeing them. I want to say the lowest I remember is $40 (?) at Luxor.

The only $20 tourneys you'll find is at some of the old casinos on the outskirts of town like Gold Coast. However, for the most part they are full of the worst possible players and staff you can find. My friend played there yesterday and it was limit for the first three rounds and then switched to No Limit after that. Don't waste your time with this. For the best low limit buy-ins try Imperial Palace's 1:00 pm daily tournament and Sahara's 7:00 pm nightly tourney. Both excellent tourneys with pretty high payouts. I made two final tables my last time playing at the I.P. and finished 22nd out of 100 at Sahara. Also, as someone mentioned earlier, Binions has tourneys everday at 8am, 8pm, and 2am. They usually run about $70 plus one optional $40 rebuy. Good luck and let us know how you do.

The Rio has a daily noon tournament that is $40.00 with one rebuy. I played it a couple of times in March and there were usually about 35 or so players.
