Player 2 wins w/ a piar of 8s, K high...here's why:

In Texas Hold'em, each player makes the best 5 card poker hand w/ any of their hole cards and the board....so here's the results:

Player one has a pair of 8s, Queen high w/ 8 Heart 8 Diamond Q Heart 9 Heart 5 Club

Player two has a pair of 8s, King high w/ 8 Heart 8 Diamond K Diamond 9 Heart 7 Spade

In your second example, the pot is split, with both players playing the board royal flush A Spade K Spade Q Spade J Spade 10 Spade
