Hello
I recently became interested in poker and I want to improve my game. I was wondering if anybody can suggest any books or video tapes that would be the most helpful for a novice player. I live in Las Vegas, so I have easy access to the Gambler's Book Store. They have alot of info on poker, so its hard for me to determine what would benefit me the most. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thank you.

Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

I'm from UK. We have a TV show called 'Late Night Poker' which airs on Channel 4 for one season per year.
They published a book called 'How To Play Poker And Win' which is very good, mainly focusing on Texas Holdem. If you can find it in the US, I'd definitely recommend it, it's up to date and costs about $12 I imagine.
Hope this helps

Thanks. Im not sure we get that program or what channel it would be on. Ill see if I can find that book.
On a side subject however, I just saw last night on the Travel Channel they are showing the World Poker Tour every Wednesday night. It was a two hour episode with alot of no limit action. Check it out.
