I was wondering if people regularly get poker chips from casinos and use them in their home games? I am going to Shreveport this summer and wanted to know if I should wait to buy chip and just gather some from the casinos their. Is this a good idea. I've never actually been to a casino so I have no clue if you can keep the chips that you use to play or not. Is it easy to get chips in the casinos. Are their people who sell them there? I would like to get a good set of paulsons or something similar. Any input would be appreciated.

What are the good casinos in that area, are there?

You can walk out w/ the chips in most casinos as far as i know...but this would be much more expensive than just buying your own case full for a home game....
i've never heard of a casino selling chips....
I would recommend http://www.gamblersgeneralstore.com because my friend got chips there and they turned out great...they have a big catalog of choices, and when he lost some chips(actually i think somebody stole them)....the store sent him replacements for free....also check out our Card, Chips, Tables forum for more advice

It would be very expensive to leave with the casinos chips. $1, $5, and $20 for each chip... bad idea.
