I won the hand, but even so was I wrong to chase this down?
PokerStars 0.25/0.50 Hold'em (9 handed) converter
Preflop: Hero is Button with :ah, :qs.
2 folds, MP1 calls, 1 fold, MP3 calls, CO raises, Hero calls, 1 fold, BB calls, MP1 calls, MP3 calls.
Should I have 3 bet preflop?
Flop: (10.40 SB) :9d, :8h, :7h (5 players)
BB bets, MP1 calls, MP3 calls, CO calls, Hero calls.
Getting 10-1 pot odds I have a backdoor flush and 2 overcards so i figure it's worth 1 small bet. Anyone disagree?
Turn: (7.70 BB) :4h (5 players)
BB bets, MP1 calls, MP3 calls, CO raises, Hero calls, BB calls, MP1 3-bets, MP3 folds, CO caps, Hero calls, BB calls, MP1 calls.
Now here's where it gets iffy. After CO raises my pot odds are about 6-1, but was it wrong to call? Then it got capped and I figure at this point I have no choice. Was I right or wrong?
River: (24.70 BB) :qh (4 players)
BB checks, MP1 bets, CO calls, Hero raises, BB folds, MP1 calls, CO calls.
Final Pot: 30.70 BB
Results in white below:
MP1 has 5h Kh (flush, king high).
CO has 4s 4d (three of a kind, fours).
Hero has Ah Qs (flush, ace high).
Outcome: Hero wins 30.70 BB.

Tough hand, these tend to get expensive. Once you start chasing, you are doomed.
Preflop AQ button, depending on the 1st raiser, I 3 bet, fold or call, all reasonable plays IMO.
Flop, I fold. I have nothing. Possible big pair against me, you mention having back door flush (4%) or overcards. If someone has a str8, you are nearly drawing dead, and with that kind of action preflop, you cannot discount J10 or 65 (both common hands to play). Throw the possibility of a set or 2 pair, and you have less outs for your backdoor flush.
Turn, expensive, but cant get away once you have gotten to this point and are 12-16% for the nuts.
Now, if flop was 974, then I likely raise the flop to chase out some chasers and hope for free river or fold if the raiser is a solid player that doesnt bluff much.

I don't mind a 3bet preflop, but it depends. What to do with AQo behind a raise is a tricky one.
Flop: I'm going out on a limb and disagreeing with Dave here. Your post says 10 to 1, but you're actually getting over 14 to 1 on a flop call closing the action. I think that's enough to peel here, especially given the fact that an A or a Q is likely to help you (though it's far from a sure win, you clearly can't play as if you have 6 clean outs ;P) It's a very close decision, but I think >~14:1 is sufficient. Raising here entered my mind briefly, but the table would have to be inordinately passive to give this much merit.
Turn: Not a whole lot you can do to avoid slamming in all those bets.
