There I was at Hooters. Huge chip stack. Knocking people out left and right. In big blind...K 5 os. Flop hits Q.5.5.
I check, only other player in hand (about 2/3 my chips) bets 2X bb. I call. Turn shows blank, (but a second heart). I check, he looks at me and calls ALL IN. I quickly call and say I have a 5. He shows his hand to the guy next to him and THROWS HIS CARDS IN THE MUCK ON TOP AND STARTS TO WALKS AWAY. He was also the dealer. His buddy says you have to show the last card. He flips over the Ace of hearts. He then yells, Hey I got the flush.
I told him it was to late he mucked his cards. The guy next to him says, no I saw them. They pick them off the muck. I call the guy running the tourney and he said that if the guy next to him saw it, then it was OK.
WTF??? I hate this crap.
Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? you should have physically hurt these people, just walk out the door next time. Come back with a kitchen knife, or even better a baseball bat.
then ask him politely to hand over his chips or start smashing.

I feel your pain, bro.
I play at the local bars because there are no casinos around here and it can be a pain to try to get a group together for a home game. The play is often similar to free money games on the internet. Other times, you've got people decked out in hats and sunglasses trying to act like they're on the WPT instead of just playing for some silly restaurant gift certificate.
