kings full of aces beaten

I was playing in a 6max SnG last night. Down to the final four. I'm in second with about 1900 and chip leader has 2600. I'm in BB, chip leader calls BB and everyone else folds so I check with K2os. Flop comes AAJ. We both check. Turn comes K. I bet min, He calls. River comes another K. I've got Ks full of Aces. I bet $300 and he pushes All In. At this point, I'm thinking that he also has a K and we're looking at a split pot. He had been playing fairly aggresively and I don't think he's got an ace so I call. He shows AJ and i'm done for. Should I have just layed my hand down or was i right to call?

I think you need to make a pot-sized bet on the turn to find out if your K is good. Min bets are bad news.

I definitely don't call with bottom boat.

I agree, after reviewing my play the bet on the turn was what I thought I did wrong. Definetly needed some more info before the river. Min bet was a mistake. Live and learn.

Also your bet on the river was a mistake. Remember you're betting the river for one of two reasons:
1) To get a better hand to fold
2) To get a worse hand to call

Can you name one better hand that would fold? Can you name one worse hand that would call? Remember by making a worse hand fold on the river you gain nothing.

I guess I was thinking maybe he had a Jack. The fact that he didn't raise before the flop lead me to believe he didn't have the Ace. Of course once he pushed All In I knew I was probably beat but I guess I just couldn't let go. Bad play.

And why would he call with nothing? With a board of AAJKK a pair of jacks = nothing as your hand would still be AAKKJ.

just because he didnt raise preflop doesnt mean he didnt have an ace

most people heads up with trip aces off the flop will let a free card come

especially since he hit the nut boat ... he was definetly checking there until you started to bet at it
