Had to read it just because of the title.

Freerolls come in flavors.
Some are open to all and have cash prizes.
Some issue frequent player points instead of cash
Some get you a seat to a Sat or direct entry MTT
Some freerolls are only available to players who have played XX amount of raked hands.
Etc...

If you're pondering whether you should play in the forum freeroll this week, the answer is definitely yes. Even if there were no cash prizes, we generally have a good time whenever we play each other. Add to that the opportunity to really challenge yourself without risking any bankroll, and it's a no-brainer.
