You did get lucky but Moonchild didn't really do anything to drive you out so he gets what he deserved. In his attempt to be deceptive and flat calling, he ended up getting outdrawn on the river.
However, if Moonchild had been reraising everything each round, then it would be you who was making the bad play by calling when you were behind.

Thats the thing, after the hand was played I thought I had played it correctly, then I looked back and saw I was behind the whole time so I started thinking I played it horribly.

Moonchild is an idiot. You played that correctly.

I don't like raising pf with ATo unless I'm opening from MP or later, and occasionally from LP to isolate against a lone limper whom I know to be weak-tight. Otherwise, you played perfectly. Moonchild is a weak-tight fool. I guess the 3-suited flop scared him.

Pretty standard. I like the raise from the button and taking a free card in any of those situations would be a crime.
Moonchild's play is pretty amusing. What an idiot. I hope he complained afterwards

Yeah, at first I thought the preflop raise was bad until tylanthus pointed out you were on the button. You played it right IMO.

I suspect moonchild would have done this with any pocket pair. I'll go out on a limb and say moonchild is a station.

Play is pretty standard for TPTK, and you had no reason to give him credit for a premium pair. Nothing wrong with your play I don't think.
