Flopped quads; lost

Posted Fri Jun 10, 2005 12:51 pm GMT by Pokerfarian
On Party Poker, playing a NL tourny, 11th hand all 10 players in. Table is very timid, and few hands make it to the showdown

I am BB with 3,3

All fold to 5th position, who doubles BB. 6th position calls, and all others fold. I call

Flop is 3, 3, K

Could not be more my flop!

I bet 50, hoping that anyone with a K will call, or at least not scare either away.
5th position goes 200
6th position calls without any hesitation.
I go all in
5th goes all in
6th goes all in

I smile

cards are shown

5th does indeed have a K
6th has A/A

Turn is a K

River is a K

Flopped quad 3's and walked away a loser.

That's spooky how close it came to a beat on a hand of mine earlier this year.

Had 4 4 in BB and limped
Flopp 4 4 Q
I checked, got a big bet and then a all-in by another player to me and I push.

Player 1 KQ
Player 2 AA

Turn = A
River = A

Me = Pissed.

You're not alone man, but nothing ya can do. It happens.
