Man this stings, I have about 3,000 with blinds at 75/150 and am on the BB with KJ. This is a UB $30 6-seated MTT with about 180 entrants. 50 left I am just under average stack.
I call a min-raise from the button.
Flop comes J 9 5. I check, button bets min into about 750 pot. I pop it to 500 he calls.
Turn: 9
I bet about 800 he goes all-in. Crap, folding leaves me with about 1200 chips and a long way to go. I call, he flips 8s9s and I'm done.
Its not a horrible beat but still, should I have bet more on the flop?

Unless you have the Nuts, otherwise this is dangerous bet more on the flop

I would've led the flop. The check-raise is too aggressive there. I'd lead 1/2 to 2/3 pot, and be ready to throw it away if he goes over the top or if anything scary comes on the turn.

Yeah I realize it wasn't techincally a bad beat, but I was just bummed I went out that way. Sean: I usually make more aggressive moves like this in the 6-seated tourneys because frankly, a raise is less often representing a premium hand. I tend to turn up the aggressiveness a little bit and make plays like this.
