Last night I flopped four sets and lost with three of them. What are the odds of that?

did u bet the flop right?
if u let too many people in who could make straights/ flushes etc. u did it to yourself.
I hate retorical questions. Odds are small
Make more full houses!

i play limit, but yeah, i raised every chance i got.

ah and thats exacltly why u got beat. Limit is exactly what the name implies, limited. U simply cant get people out of a pot. With so many inexperienced players out there people will chase and hit their flushes on the river even though their pot odds are horrid. Play the mans game. No limit. there u can make flush draws actually fold.
Limit is a bad form of poker in my opinion because u cant do alot of the things that make poker fun. U can only win with the best hand most of the time. A little tip for u to start playing Sng tourneys where u can emlploy your play better. Lemme know if u decide to do this. I played limit before and i switched exactly because of the stated problems with limit....

AAceman, you clearly have no conceptual understanding of pot odds, or you just don't know anything about probability.
In FL, it is rarely a +EV play, or the correct play to fold a 4 flush on any street. Only situation where I can think that it would be blatantly incorrect to call with a 4 flush is heads up, where there was no raise preflop, and it was checked through on the flop. Even then, if you argue that you have 2 implied BB on the river, it is only narrowly -EV.
There's no way to calculate the odds of losing with a set, unless you know what the board was and what your opponents were holding. It happens, but it's low.
Why do you want flush draws to fold anyway? They're easy as hell to read, and if someone wants to fish with 2:1 odds on a flush draw, count me in!

I lost 2 in a row a few nights ago, I was up a bit and playing loose. It just reminded my why I dont recommend playing 88 or lower in most cases in limit.
12% of the time you will flop a set, some of those will be nice pots. 84% of the time you will make a bad call on the flop and maybe on the turn. Occasionally, someone will have a bigger set and can wipe out several hours of solid play w/ one hand.
AAceman, I respect your opinion, but I dont think that you fully understand how to correctly play limit. I get people bashing me all the time for my play, but somehow I win consistantly. Limit play is by no means limited. If fact, if you want to talk limited, someone goes all in on the flop or preflop, what are your options now? Can you check raise the flop, turn or river? Can you reraise? Can you slowplay against an all in?
You are kind of "limited" at NL arent you?

I dislike no-limit because there are too many players who will call a flop bet with nothing, and then go bezerk as soon as a scare card comes. In limit, I can call down, and if he has it, I'm only out 2 extra bets. In NL, I have to be willing to risk my whole stack to call his bluff. I usually don't have the stones for it, and once players see that, they try it even more.

Indeed krakajak NL offers swings. It’s funny that this single reason both attracts and repels players.
