So the buddy raises me before the flop and I call (he's dealing).
Before he can show the flop, he accidentally flips over his cards. However, we went ahead and saw the flop. I still had a good hand and bet into him, he called and ended up winning.
My question is...if a player accidentally shows flips his cards during play, is he automatically out at that point or is that legal?

I’m not sure what the standard ruling is here but we normally just play on.
The player whose hand in revealed is at a disadvantage but if they want to play on I think they should be allowed to.

Was this in ring play or a tournament?
In ring play, it's house rules as far as exposing your cards is concerned. In a tournament the exposed hand is considered dead.

In my home game I give them maybe a 10 minute or 3 hand penalty. This also goes for cursing and throwing chips.

Is this for cursing at someone or just cursing in general? If it's cursing in general, I'd spend the whole time in the penalty box.
