I read that you can't do string betting and i'm fine with that.
But what do you say when u want to raise. Here's some examples to clear things up a bit.
Someone puts $100 down and u want to put down $200,
do you say:
1. "Raise $100" or
2. "Raise $200"?
Let's say you're on BB with $50 already down. Someone puts down $200. To put down $300,
do you say:
1. "Raise $300" or
2. "Raise $250" or
3. "Raise $200"?
Thanks in advance.

You have the following options essentially (let's say the bet is 50, you want it to go to 300):
1) "I will raise TO 300 total"
2) "I will raise 250 more"
3) "I will raise"......then you go to your chips in one movement.
I personally always do #3 cos it allows you to pick and choose the raise without declaring it in advance. You still can't string bet of course unless you have declared the amount (using #1 or #2) and wish to put that amount out in more than one movement.

You can declare a raise without saying a particular amount. If you say "raise," you must at least double the other person's bet, but you can think about how much you want to raise.
A string-bet is when you move out enough chips to call, and then try to put out more. Or, alternatively, if you say, "I'll see your $...", put out the chips, and say "and I'll raise you $...", that's a string bet, which is usually illegal in "official" types of games.
