Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

With this method,
| Quote: | | "just dump your chips into a container of Mineral Oil and let them soak a while. You then take them out one at a time and rub them dry with a cotton towel. " |
... I hope you were joking. That's a horrible thing to do to real clay chips.

That's good to hear. Seems like real clay would soak up liquids, at least a little. I'm engineer though. Swelling and all that ya know?

They do soak it up...that's why you only do this nutty stuff with real clay. On the otherhand...they are more of a ceramic material than 'clay'...so they are very stable. Imagine soaking a porous (spelling?) rock in water or oil. It's still a rock....maybe a bit prettier...but still a rock. No swelling or shape-changing.
That said, in my example on the site, the whole 'soak them in oil' process I refere to is usually less than 5 minutes....depending on how fast you're working. It's really a non-issue.
Cheers,
John
