Please give me input - do I suck?

Hi, just got erased on a pokersite. Had about $500 on the account. First lost 100 in 3/6 FL shorthanded - nothing strange about that. Changed tables and by mistake happened to sit down at a NL table (with all the money). Found out the mistake but had already posted BB. Got 96s and got to see a flop for free... flopped a flush, A high. To but the story short, small raises between me and another guy, and on the river reraises, he covered me and I lost all my stack... he had QTs... I was thinking he had twopair A, KK, trips, set, etc....

Q: do I suck?

if u can lose ur stack on one session ur not doing the right thing.
my own system dictates that i can lose no more then 10% of my stack at any given time.....

that erases the possibility of blowing my hard earned roll on one session.

Go play at lower limits and make sure that if u lose 10 % or even 20% u always stop. Analyse what went wrong and try again the next day. If ur a hot head and u will be affected the next day keep a non-poker day between your losing session and the next.

Its all about discipline baby,

I never venture into this part of the forum... I was very moved by the title. You don't suck. You just lost a hand. Don't put all your eggs in one basket. Hey, maybe that also means don't put all your chips into one pot! Diamond

That's NL, it happens, you don't suck - I won 1k today with a hand that went like this :

I get AA and raise $50 pre-flop.

3 clubs flop, but I don't have one. I bet $100 and get called. Turn comes a rag. I bet $250 and get called. River comes another rag & I go all in. Guy thinks and calls. He has KK (Also no club).

Point is, same kind of flop you had & two of us were all in on the river and the best hand was AA.

So you didn't make a bad play, the guy just had a better hand - Like others said though, try to avoid putting your whole bank role on the line (you already know that).

Here is a hand for you :

My buddy & I are playing on our lunch hour. He has A Spade 4 Heart . Flop comes Q Spade 7 Spade 8 Spade.

Turn comes a rag.

River comes a 5 Spade .

I just hear my buddy saying, "Oh yeah, I have the nut flush and he wants to get all in." Laughing

Then I just see this dumbfounded look on his face..... Opponnent has 6 Spade 9 Spade .

Gotta love it..... I Heart Poker.

Thanks for the moral support, specially 1988 TR for the hand posting. As I said, I would never put my hole bankroll on the line, it's just i had $500 on that site, I was gonna quit playing soon. So I sat down at, what I thought was a FL-table. I'm a lazy bastard. I didnt want to reach out and type in a how much I was gonna sit down with (usually about 150-200 on a 3/6 FL table), so I just mouseclicked in my entire bankroll... Then, as I said before, I posted the BB... "wow, this is 3/6 NL, gotta get out of here"... "Hmm, 96s and get to see a flop for free"... "wow, flopped a flush"

Hehe, everything went bad...

Q: If you flop a flush, and opponent is betting heavy against you, would you be less careful about opponent having a flush than in the case of a drawflush hitting on turn or river? When I played the hand I definitly thought this way which I think is a bit wrong... what do you say?
