I don't have the hand history for this hand, I shoulda thought to grab it before I left the table.
Anyhow, it's a 3 table $10 SnG on stars. We're down to about 17 left and I've been getting NO cards and am now the shortstack at my table with just less than the starting chip amount. Blinds are 50/100 I do believe.
I'm in bb with Qs3c
5 people limp into the pot and I check.
Flop: Ks Js 8s
I bet 400 into a 500 pot and get one caller, who has me covered by about 300 chips.
By this time I'm down to about 900 chips.
Turn: blank
I push, he calls with the Ace high flush.
River even gave me the flush to add insult to injury.
Should I have just let this go after the turn came blank? Should I have even bet at all?
Thanks for any input.

You wait - you have at least a rotation before you need to start pushing.

Yeah, i know this, I don't know what it is, i just did it again. I get these mental lapses. I play sooo solid then bang, I play like a jackass for a couple hands and lose it all.
Thanks though.

You saw me do something similar the other day, so I feel ya man. I think I'd probably just check this flop, since it can be very dangerous for a hand like yours. You can wait for a much better spot, just as I could have the other day. Much easier to say after the fact, I know, but that;s why we do this right?

I wouldn't say too aggressive, unless you're against the type of opponent who can't lay down top pair. You tried a semi-bluf with a draw to the second nuts and ran inot the nuts, but there was no way yo could know he had it. You had to figure a pair or a draw as a lot more likely than a flopped flush, and the pot was definately big enough to try to win with a push.
