yeah that was bad.....
On the turn bet more. On the raise bet less.

Those are some massive stacks w/ small blinds, was this a freeroll or very low buy in?
Anyway, I think the flop bet is fine, since I have decent action, I might bet smaller or just check the turn. This will make someone think....hmmm.....did he have a 10 and the K scared him? So I see at least one of the players taking a stab at the pot. Then smooth call or check raise depending on who has acted.
I dont see anything to scare you, and with a set and a massive stack, I can risk someone catching.

My main hope was that the reraiser had caught the king, so that he'd call my pot-sized bet. My minimum bet was in hopes of a substantial push by another player. I totally agree with you though, I needed to get my value out of my hand with a larger raise on the turn.

I think that is a good raise.
With the size of the stacks you guys have, the 400 best is virtually nothing. You are giving a guy with a hand like 88 or QJ unbelievable pot odds. Once you got raised, I think you can play back & see if you can get some action - Your hand is not that strong where you can just sit on it & bet 400.

I was thinking that too, after the fact. T'was a freeroll, btw.

I like this, that was the other thing, I didn't necessarily want someone to catch something better, but as Dave B said, it would have been worth the risk.

I'm with you, it's just that at a 400 bet, the pots odds are unbelievable. That Steve guy is in the pot with nearly $100k in chips. Say he has a gutshot straight draw with 8J. He has 1 in 12 outs or so to catch the 9. But you are giving him 1 in 250 odds to catch! A 9 turns, and you are never going to see the beat coming & it will be very hard to get away from your set.
