Hero is in the BB with JJ
1 limper UTG + 1, MP+2 raises to 7xBB, Hero ???
Here's my question here ... do I flat call hoping to hit a set since I'm likely against something like AK, AQ, KK, QQ, AA, or do I pay a bit to reraise and gain more information (i.e. If he re-raises my re-raise, I'm 100% certain to be behind, or if he cold calls me then if the flop is all undercards, i MAY have the best hand).
Also, do you worry too much about the limper?

I SUCK AT NL RING GAME, ok with that said:
are blinds $.25/$50-so his raise was to $3.5 or $4?
Depending on the player I:
1) tight player, reraise to $8-10, see what the limper does, and hopefully take down the pot here. If I am called, then check to him regardless of flop. Being out of position sucks.
2) loose player, I call. No A or K on the flop, I fire out for 1/2 pot. If called, then make check and call depending on size of bet on turn and river. If I make a set, then slow play a bit.

raise was to 3.5
i had been sitting out waiting for the BB for two orbits (SB left as i was about to be BB ...), but i had the feeling he was a pretty solid player, but the position of his raise seemed like he may have been just trying to pick up blinds w/ a medium pair

I flat call and check the flop to him.
A) You flop a set, check/call then check/raise the turn.
B) Rags-Check/raise the flop. If he goes back over the top, lay it down.
C) Overcards hit the flop, lay it down to any bet over 2BB.

Reraise and take control of the hand preflop. If he comes back over the top (all-in) and you view him as tight, dump it.
If he just calls the raise and there is an A or K on the flop, toss out a bet about 30% of pot size and see how he responds. If you hit your jack, toss out a smaller bet and hope for a raise (you can't check here). If the flop is rags, bet 50% of the pot.
Of course, all of this is IMHO ...
