Is there a thing as too agressive.

I have noticed that I am not seeing many showdowns. I am either out before the river or I take the hand before we show cards. I am wondering if I am losing money because I am not getting bets after the river or am I winning some hands that I should not get by betting so aggressive.

What is a good percentage of hands that you should see the showdown and show your cards. I run about 5% of the hands I play. Secondly, what is a good percentage of showdowns won. I am sitting around 60-65% most of the time long term (by the week). I know they can be decieving since it only takes one good/bad hand to make a difference in the bankroll.

I look at my game by not how much money I win or lose in a session but how many good decisions I make. If I am making solid decisions I am usually ahead in $$$$$ at the end of the night. This is when I noticed that i do not get to see someelses cards often. I am having a harder time getting to see what people will call or go to the showdown with because I am just taking the pot right there.

Guess my rambling is this... am I getting to agressive and not maximizing my hands by forcing other to fold instead of calling and showing cards.

I would say that it is all hand dependant. Say you flop quads. You're going to win the hand 99.9% of the time so you wouldn't want to push someone out before the river. Conversly, if you're in BB and catch top pair with an 8 high board, you're going to want that hand over right away.

Winning showdown percentage also isn't a good stat in my opinion. All it takes it 1 hand to lose your buy-in or bust you out of a tourny. Doesn't matter if you've won the previous 15.... the last one could cost you everything, assuming you're talking No Limit.
