My impressions on KGB Rounders chip vs Crystal Oyster Chipco |

Been thinking about picking up a set of nice chips so i did what most people recommend, I bought some samples.
First up, the Teddy KGB Rounders chips, man, these are sweet chips, i compared them to the chips i save from the casinos i play at (i keep a $1 and $5 chip from every casino i play at, including Bellagio, Foxwoods, Mohegan Sun, Borgota, Bally's, Tropicana, Taj and etc...)
They felt just like the real casino chips, simply amazing.
As for the Crystal Oyster CHIPCO chips, I felt they were somewhat fragile, nothing i would risk splashing the pot with (then again, who does that?) Although the graphics looked amazing, i felt as though the KGB's would last longer vs the CHIPCO ceramic chip.

I would think you have that backwards. A ceramic chip should be more durable than a clay chip. That said, I like the feel of clay chips much, much more than ceramic, and both are more than durable enough for a home game.

are the KGB chips the ones from Acepokerchip co.?

although you say that the ceramic chip is more durable, (I havent a clue), just interms of handling the chips made me nervous. They may not break in the long run but do you think that they aer more susceptile to pieces of the ceramic chipping off?

chipco ceramic chips are pretty damn strong. your worries about them being fragile are unfounded IMO. the only issue with them is the edges getting kind of a white ring around the outside as the color wears off. but i think even this mostly happens to casino chips which get extremely heavy use. i don't know if this would even be an issue for a home set. i kinda doubt it. maybe Ten or someone that owns some chipcos can chime in with their .02 cents.

Just to reinforce the point... The chipco's/ceramic chips are as bomb proof as any chip out there. Short of taking a hammer to them you will not have -any- problems with the chipping, much less breaking. As a matter of fact, the clays are more likely to break and chip. That said, TRK chips (manufacturer of the KGB's) are arguably the toughest clay chips on the market! Those babies will take some serious abuse... In the end though, both are serious chips and will hold up to any thing you can dish out under normal circumstances and then some...
