Well i've bought Super system 2.. and I love Jen's section on Fixed holdem.

However, I think that sorta play is made for the higher stakes, and after playing some low limit today, not everything works the same.

What's the best low limit books any of you guys have read?

Winning Low Limit Hold'em by Le Jones. In my opinion it's the best book to get started with playing low limit games.

thanks, i've heard about this one. i'll probably get it or read it at barnes and noble haha.

but from what you guys already know, what are the main pointers for winning low limit holdem.? any difference in play styles?

should i see more flops since it's cheaper... or play tight? seems to me.. even if i raise my pocket aces.. a guy with jack 10 will still call.. and beat me.. because the raise isn't significant enough to push him out.

How often will he beat you? Do you think you can make enough when you win to make up for your loses?

Also WLLHE is for games softer than the average online low limit game (.5/1 or greater), IMO. The book claims to be applicable to games as high as 3/6 (I think) but the average online 3/6 game is much tougher than the average casino 3/6 game. The book is about beating animals who have no clue how to play. You'll find more online players are making a serious attempt to make money and are not just interested in gambling. Not to say there aren't a ton of fish, but there aren't as many and they aren't as fishy.

Yeah, I have to agree with suitedaces on this one. You play 3/6 at the casino, then you end up five or six players in the pot. 3/6 online... and many people do fold their hands.

Nevermind 3/6, at 1/2 online your often playing against a pile of rocks

Anyone got a few quick recommendations on their personal experiences at beating your local cardroom's 1/2 limit hold'em game where anywhere from 6-7 players see every flop?

That's what WLLHE is for.

Whoever said play no limit.. doesn't understand or something.

I'm trying to broaden my poker skills by learning Omaha + HL and fixed holdem.. I find that i play better at the higher limits.. however I don't have that much of a bankroll to work with. Therefore I moved to lower limit tables to apply any skills i've read etc..

however i need to learn the different strategy to play a good game.. so yea. don't really need those comments about trying no limit.

Usually at the the charity events, the no limit games are for tournaments, and the side games are fixed.
