If I remember correctly, the odds of getting pocket aces are 1 in 220. So the odds of pocket aces two hands in a row would be 1 in 220 x 220 right?

Correct - independent events, thus you multiply.

I was in AC last month and sat next to a guy for most of the evening on Saturday. I folded a great deal as the cards were cold and he liked to show me what he had if he was still in the hand (he was seated to my left). I saw (these are only the ones that I saw that he showed me when I wasn't in a hand) him catch 16 pocket pair within 2 hours. He did not hit a set once out of any of those. He claimed that he'd been getting them all night before I got there and that the highest PP he had gotten was 10's. Of course he was bleeding his stack away preflop and then never seemed to hit his hand.
Now anyone have a clue what the odds are on that happening?
