Pre-flop Analysis
EP raise, immediate call, then a re-raise. I have every reason to believe that someone has QQ, KK, or AA. This time I trusted my read and it turned out to be right. It was a very tight fold, but probably one of my best folds of all time.

what's so very tight about it ?
a raise and a reraise in front of you, JJ never looks good in that situation

Did you win your seat?

Looks like a smart play to me.

I agree that it was a great play. JJ may look good when you see it in your hand, but up against huge raises and re-raises, you should treat it like pocket deuces. Best hope is they both have AK or AQ which puts you at close to even (or less if both are in). More likely (as you found out), you are underpair to one or both of them. I guess there is also the hope that they both have pocket underpairs, but not likely that BOTH are in that situation. Good fold..how did you end up doing after that?

Good laydown ... if shortstacked, it's another story.

reminds me of nick frangos laying down queens to kings and jacks ... solid play

I don't mean this to be rude at all but I'd call that a no-brainer fold in any type of game, perhaps even short-stacked. You were so obviously beaten when he re-raised that there was absolutely no way you could stay in the hand.

This is one thing that has really helped my tourney play. I used to think w/ any pair 77-JJ, ok, likely a coin flip, lets gamble. I have moved to, OK, no need to risk my chips at this point, I will get better opportunities later. Surprisingly, you dont usually have to wait too long.

I think we are all going to agree here that JJ is an easy fold there. I would seriously consider laying down QQ also. I can't lay down KK though. Someone is going to have to show me their aces.

The only way I would have played this hand is if I was extremely short-stacked or had a HUGE chip lead and a gamble wouldn't hurt my lead.
