Depends.

Depends.

Depends.

There are always lots of circumstances that should factor into your raises.

A normal opening raise is usually 3-4xBB (.30-.40 in this case). If you pick up a hand like AA/KK/AK on the button and there are 3-4 limpers into the pot before you, then you'd want to raise it to .60 or .70 to narrow the field. Mid PP are more difficult. After the flop a pair of 7's or 8's are usually no good unless you hit a set. Odds are there is going to be overcards on the table which someone else probably hit so your pair is useless. Personally I like to limp in with mid PPs and hope for a set. Without hitting a set, get out because someone probably already has you beat.

2 Random high cards could be worth a 3-4xBB raise if no one has raised before you.

Again though, every situation depends and you shouldn't be making the same raise every time with the same hand.

Also a lot depends on what the standard raise at the table is and how much of a raise your oppoents will call. If they are bad players make it 1/5 to 1/3 of your stack preflop and push on any flop that doesn't scare the hell out of you with high pocket pairs.
