So, I usually play the $1-$2 no limit tables. I had a good night (up about $600) and decided to step it up to the $5-$10 no limit. I cash in with $500. About the third or 4th hand I get dealt pocket Q's. I am left of the BB, first to bet. I raise $60. I get two callers. Flop comes 4,8,9, all off suite. I am first to bet again and bet $150. Both players call. Next card is a 2. I go all in, about $280. Both people call. The pot is at $1300. The river card is a 5. One of the guys that stayed in had a A,9, so I had him beat. The other guy who ended up winning pulled two pair on the river, 8's & 5's. f*ck! Why would he have stayed in!!!! Can anyone out there feel my pain?

You have all my sympathy. Although going all in on a pair Q's was dicy. But the same would have hapened with a pair of Aces

I'd like to play regularly against that guy who called your raise before the flop with 85 then stayed till the death with second pair on the flop. Come to that I'd like to play with the guy who called your raise with A9, though I suppose he did have top pair all the way and could have read you for AK.
Don't understand how the A9 could have thought he was best though - surely the way the hand went either you had an overpair (which you did) or the other guy had hit a set (which he didn't but then we have already decided that his play was bizarre).
