This may not be the right place to post this so you can move it if you want. On ESPN's WSOP qualifing tourny last week when Chris had quad Aces would you have played it differently? I was screaming check at the TV but I know that I have the pocket cam advantage. What would you do? Go easy on me if you think I am a moron I am still working on my game.

I think he played it right (although who am I to question Jesus?).

Heads up is different game. He never pushed real hard until the river. Good players can smell traps fairly easily. He just value bet each time until he was holding the absolute nuts. A check likely would have screamed big hand louder than just betting out.

I would be tempted to check, but if I had an aggressive player on the other side, I would try to bet just enough to look like a weak hand or steal and hope he comes over the top.

When I am heads up, I will likely bet big when I dont want a call and make small raises or limp with big hands.

Well, my question is, what would you have done? Do you think he should have gone all in?

If he went "all-in" he probably figured the other guy would fold. He decided to instead try and suck off as many chips as possible without losing the fish.

There is no way he could have known how powerful a hand the other guy had.

If he he got the wiff of a reraise I bet his next move would have been an "all-in"

Soup, I am not sure, I would not have gone all in. I am sure that the other player would have figured out that he had a monster.

Since I have a horrible memory and can't recall the order in which the cards fell or the action inbetween cards I can't say for sure how I would have played the hand.

I also understand that he was getting as much as he could without scaring the other guy off. I guess my question is more what were you thinking while you watched the cards fall.

LOL. I was thinking it's over. The other guy had JK and Chris had Ax. (can't remember his other card.)

The flop came AJA

The turn was an A

The river was a K.

So the other dude really had a strong hand for heads-up play as well. I think he is very lucky to have survived the hand. Albiet, not by much.
