You ever kick yourself for not slowing down?

If only I had slowed down. I saw top pair with an Ace kicker and the rest was all a blur. I missed all the tell tale signs. Grrrrrrrr.

AhKd MP with only one caller so far. Blinds at 15/30 I raise to 100. I get three callers after me.

Flop is Kd9d5h.

I bet pot and get re-raised all-in. We are only a couple hands into the tourney so I have no read. I'm playing odds. With 70 raise did he play K9s? Did he flat call with a poket pair and not re-raise in LP? Diamond flush draw? KQo?

In hind sight, I should have slowed down and folded. But being that it was online the only thought in my head was that he was on a diamond flush. I never expected him to have 55 and call a raise with two others calling in front of him. At least I would not have.

The damn check raise should have given it away. Damn the 30 seconds or however much time you have. It's late. My brain can't function in that short amount of time.

Dude, don't be so fixed on the results. There are no "tells" ... he could have done that with KQ. You played it fine and I'll make this play 24/7 in low stakes games... you can't believe how many times they bluff or call with top pair no kicker. This is a tourney, you are playing for first and only have so much time before the blinds eat you, take your chances now. Oh, and switch to party skins when you get the chance, they are the king of sngs

I think a check raise all -in would prolly make me fold there. I'd be thinking 99. If it's still early as you say you'll find other spots.

As for what blue said about there being no tells, I think that's bs.

Depending on what stakes you're playing, and i don't think you were playing bigger than $20, I don't see anyone putting on a play check raising all-in at that point. He's gotta be comfortable with a top 3 hand there.

Yeah I agree AOS with the check raise. As far as tells go in online there are a ton. If you just sit observe a table for 15 minutes you will be able to pick up betting habits pretty quickly. This was a $20+2 tourney with I think 97 people and it was about four hands in. Since it was only the first level at 15/30 the blinds were not even close to eating me alive.

I didn't know this was a MTT... but still it's the first level- so what kind of information have you REALLY developed on ll the players? Don't say "Man I shoulda seen the tells" when there were none.

Its a tough one because he could have done the same thing with a flush draw or KQ, KJ. You bet so much on the flop, it made a fold pretty tough. You fold & you are down to 940.

The check raise all-in blue is what I should have seen. There is no need to call it when it is so early as he could have had many many things that beat me. I'm not trying to say that this early I missed a tell. I was just saying there are tells online. I don't think this is a case of missing a tell. Just misreading the action that was going on.

"I missed all the tell tale signs. Grrrrrrrr. "

There were no tells... I've seen idiots make this play with tons of crap and honestly I would put myself ahead AT LEAST 75% of the time. No need to kick yourself bro, you played it fine and in MTT's you can't win em all... you have to take your chance some point during the tourney.

All the time. It's probably my worst flaw.

I did the same last night in a NL ring game. Guy raised preflop (about 4 times BB) and I called with my 3s ... yes, a bit loose.

Flop: QJ3

I check, he bets, I raise (min raise).

Turn: J

I bet, he raises, I push.

River: Doesn't matter ...

His Js looked better than my 3s.

I then finally started paying more attention to my opponents ... this guy was a solid TAG.
