A Few SnG hands ...

Posted Thu Aug 25, 2005 11:00 pm GMT by TheSalche
First hand is more of a question than the second one. Villain in the first one is a pretty solid player, I wouldn't put it past him to call with A10 and up if I pushed here.

Second hand wondering what you think of my slowplay, where should I have raised/bet more if at all.

2nd hand - doubt you could have made any more with it.

1st hand - Hmmm - it all depends on my read. Personally, I'd reraise to 600 and see what happens. I really don't like the all-in push yet, but don't want to smoothcall and let a weak ace get their flop kill me in this hand. If he is a solid player, as you suggest, he might be pushing on more hands (you suggest AT), KQo, or a smaller holdings.

It's a tough one, amplified by the fact that JJ is the hand from hell.

1) I dont see reraise, either call and hope for undercards or fold. if you reraise to 500, the pot will be 1150 if called and you have 800 left. If he has been raising a lot, I might go all in and see if I can win the 450 now.

2) I am short stacked and flop a set, turn a boat? I guess I raise min or maybe to 75 on the flop since all have called the initial bet-I am sure to get some callers. Turn, I come out betting 1/3 to 1/2 pot pray someone has AQ KQ. River scares the heck out of me, no betting here.

I'm on board with each of those courses of action - Terrible river in the 2nd hand. Sad

1st hand you definately need to reraise the flop... your also very lucky the last person to act bet. I wouldn't risk a round without betting with 1 guy to go.. but after his weak bet and tons of callers, you need to raise to make the pot bigger so they will stay in, even a minraise is better than a call here because now you f'd yourself for the turn where you had to minraise again.

2nd hand, push. No questions asked. Lets say if he pushed all-in first just to make it easier... and you said he was pretty tight? Ok if he pushed with 66+, ATs+, AJo+ then its still +$EV to call him based on ICM math. But since he only minraised, a push is still correct and there's still a chance he folds. Reraising him is the worst play you could do if you raise any amount short of all your chips... I rather fold or call than "reraise to 600"

yeah

2nd hand i got extremely lucky that nobody made their better boat than i ... really lucky, no idea wtf they were calling with lol

1st hand i ended up flat calling, the board came AQ10 and i had to fold to a decent sized bet

althought i probably made the 'wrong' decision ... it ended up working cause i think i got 2nd in that SnG
